THE CROSS OF CHRIST THE SAVIOUR

Carved by Job Kekana, a talented African, this crucifix dominates the chancel inspiring with its beauty, reminding all who see it that

" If God so loved us, we ought to love one another"

Job Kekana, who became a renowned sculptor, died in Harare at the aged of 78. Born in the old Northern Transvaal, he began carving at the age of 12 years, and despite becoming blind in one eye and crippled by polio, he began his studies at Grace Dieu College in Pietersburg, later studying carving in England and Rome. He completed many beautiful works.
